Hollywood star leaves commuters in awe with surprise train station performance
There's no doubt about it - Wicked is the movie that everyone is talking about. From it's incredible costumes to show-stopping tunes and unforgettable characters, it's set to be the movie of the year.
So when Jeff Goldblum, who plays The Wizard in the film adaptation of the musical, showed off his piano skills with an impromptu performance at St Pancras this afternoon (November 11), surprised passengers were in for a treat. The actor - who has also starred in Jurassic Park and Independence Day - gave an impressive musical performance at the London train station of a song from Wicked, as well as two classic Christmas tunes.
Wendy Spinks, Chief Commercial Officer at St. Pancras International and HS1 Ltd said: “Our station is proud to be known as a hot spot for musical performances, creating an exciting and lively experience for travellers and shoppers alike.

“This festive season our station has become a hub for all things Wicked with our beautiful Christmas tree inspired by the film of the season. We were delighted to host Jeff Goldblum, who has surprised our visitors and fans of the film with his electrifying performance.”
Jeff's appearance comes after stars of the new film descended on London on Monday night (November 18) to celebrate the UK premiere. Ariana Grande - who plays Glinda - and Cynthia Erivo - taking on the role of Elphaba - dazzled on the red carpet when arriving at the Royal Festival Hall in London to promote the anticipated blockbuster hit. The event followed a similar one stateside, where Ariana and her boyfriend Ethan Slater shared a sweet moment.
For the film, 31 year old Ariana - who looked stunning in a vibrant yellow floor-length dress, seemingly channelling iconic singer Celine Dion with her outfit choice - has returned to her Broadway roots as she stars as Glinda the Good Witch in the upcoming movie adaptation of the hit musical Wicked. The production is a fresh take on the Wizard of Oz story that focuses on the friendship between Elphaba (Eriva), a young woman with green skin, and Glinda (Grande), who is a popular girl.
The new film is set in the Land of Oz and follows the adventures of our favourite characters as they navigate life-altering events. The story was originally penned by Gregory Maguire, with Jon M Chu taking the helm as director for this latest adaptation.
