We can all agree that chocolate and cheese are two essential components of Christmas dinner.

But together? Perhaps not so much.

Asda is trying to break tradition by selling a block of chocolate orange cheese. That’s Wensleydale that contains zesty orange as well as chunks of both white and dark chocolate.

The creamy cheese costs only £1, making it an affordable and interesting addition to your dinner this festive season.

Wensleydale is often paired with sweeter ingredients, though these are usually fruits such as cranberries and apricots.

However, our first thoughts may have been proven wrong as cheese retailer iGourmet has given its honest verdict.

“Wensleydale’s moist, crumbly texture, honeyed aroma, and fresh, clean taste made it an ideal base for this new cheese vision,” the company wrote on its site.

“Its sweet medley of flavours also provides a delightfully surprising, attractive addition to any cheeseboard throughout the year.”

Chocolate orange cheese is by far the tamest food product that’s been launched this Christmas.

Aldi launched prosecco-infused sausages and chocolate-flavoured wine while Asda released a pizza topped with an entire Christmas dinner.
