36-Year-Old Man Gifts Mom a Hilarious Twist on a Classic Baby Keepsake (Exclusive)
Taylor Domengeaux gifted his mother an adult footprint ornament as a way to lighten the mood after his grandfather's death
You're never too old to give a handmade gift.
In a humorous twist on a classic baby keepsake, 36-year-old Taylor Domengeaux captured his unique Christmas gift to his mother in a now-viral TikTok. The gift included a ceramic ornament featuring his adult-sized footprint with the message “Taylor’s 36th Christmas” written on it.
The inspiration came after Taylor’s grandfather died and he wanted to bring a lighthearted gift to keep his mom happy on the holiday. “My grandpaw (mom’s dad) passed away last week so it has been a rough week," he exclusively tells PEOPLE. “We thought this would bring a smile to her face. It was a success.”
According to Taylor, the clip perfectly encapsulates his family’s humorous spirit. “My family loves to laugh and joke around,” he says. “We never take each other very seriously, which always calls for some funny family get-togethers."
Taylor recounts other memorable gifts, including a “knuckle sandwich” he received this Christmas from his sister. “My sister gifted me a knuckle sandwich this year — it was two pieces of bread with a picture of her hand printed out in between,” he recalls.

Taylor returned the humorous gift by getting her a shirt that says “Green Bean Queen” because “she makes green beans for every family get-together.”
Since going viral on TikTok, users have applauded Taylor for his funny yet sentimental gift. “They love it,” he shares. “All the moms hope their kid does something like this for them when they are my age.”
Others have shared their own unique twists to the gag gift. “I love this. I make my mom a yearly footprint christmas card. I'm 39,” writes one user.
"For my parent's 40th anniversary, I went to a paint your own pottery place and stamped my foot on a serving platter ... 'from your baby girl,’ ” shares another.
As for Taylor’s mother, she has been enjoying her newfound Internet fame. “She knows about the viral TikTok and she thinks it's funny,” Taylor says. “I have been updating her on all the views, and she asks me if there are any new comments."
