Zara McDermott gives relationship update after spending Christmas without Sam Thompson
Zara McDermott has confirmed she and boyfriend Sam Thompson are very much OK after fans were confused when the pair spent Christmas apart from one another - with Sam spending the day solo helping out with some charity work.
Made In Chelsea star Sam - who spent Christmas with Zara last year - shared a post to Instagram on Christmas Day where he said it was looking like he would have a 'bleak Christmas'. Sam later edited his post's wording from 'bleak Christmas' to 'standard Christmas' as many were commenting asking why this Christmas would be bleak, and where Zara was. But taking to her own account on Boxing Day, Zara appeared to confirm all is well as she snapped a picture of Sam's Christmas gifts.
Sharing a picture of two paintings of things Sam loves, such as Harry Potter books and the England football team logo, Zara wrote: "Sam's xmas pressie from me!!!!! I wanted to get something super meaningful so I had these paintings made... they look a bit random but they are all meaningful things he loves". She then credited the artist and hailed them as 'incredible'.

Zara's post comes after Sam spent his day delivering gifts across London, with the reality star writing to Instagram: "Bit of a different Christmas this year. I got put in touch with a charity. The camila batmanghelidjh foundation to be exact. They were struggling this year after the sad passing of Camila, and I was lucky enough to get the call up to deliver gifts across London to possibly the nicest, most selfless bunch of people I've ever met.
"What could have been another standard Christmas has turned out to be one that I'll never forget! Thank you everyone that let me into your homes, and to be honest I think there's no doubt I'll be back next year if you'll have me! Here's to all of the people who are there for others year round.
"You are superheroes (and thank you to my co-pilot the camera shy JLS loving Ali) you're one of a kind my man!"
Supporting her boyfriend in the comment section of the edited post, Zara gushed: "So proud of you, it's so lovely that you chose to give up your Christmas Day to help others."
Their separate Christmases come after Sam sparked engagement rumours recently in a touching tribute for Zara's birthday. As Sam described her as "my person" and admitting, "I'm afraid you're stuck with me forever" fans are speculating an engagement might be on the horizon.
Sam poured his heart out in the caption: "My best friend, and soul mate....some would say my person. I'm afraid you're stuck with me forever happy birthday. I love you so much, and wow have I missed you over the past month! Here's to another amazing year with you."
