Gone are the days where we’re content with a simple mince pie.

These days, brands are creating all manner of weird and wonderful food and beverage hybrids to celebrate the festive season.

This year alone, chocolate wine, gingerbread rum, mince pie porridge and Christmas dinner pizza are among the strange new launches.

But, the most, er, interesting product to land on our desk this Christmas has to be Brussels Sprout Ketchup.

UK-based Sauce Shop has teamed up with Amazon to put a festive twist on the kitchen cupboard essential and create a world first.

While it might not look all that appetising - the murky-looking condiment doesn’t exactly scream ‘COVER YOUR CHIPS IN ME’ - it’s certainly a novel idea and would make an excellent secret Santa present.

After all, the person you’re buying for definitely won’t already have it.

Plus, it’s a bargain. The 225g bottle, which is suitable for both vegans and vegetarian, costs just £3.

It likely counts as one of your five-a-day, too. It’s packed with 15 sprouts and blended with cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon to create a really festive flavour.

So, what does it taste like?

We have to be honest, it does have a tangy taste with strong hints of onion and sprouts - definitely an acquired taste.

Would we eat it with our Christmas roast? A little dollop wouldn’t hurt. But, it’s not our first choice of condiment.

As for whether you'll love or hate it? You're just going to have to try it for yourself.
