Wine condoms now exist - but there's more to them than the obvious

Yes, ‘wine condoms’ now exist - but not to make your partner taste like Pinot Grigiot.

They’re actually a pretty useful bit of kit used to prevent spillages and keep your favourite plonk fresh.

They work as functional bottle stoppers and are “99.9% effective at preventing unplanned wine spillages” (we see what they did there).

That’s because the “shrink-to-fit” technology creates a water-tight seal on any bottle. So if you’re more of a beer than vino person, you can get involved as well.

Practicality-wise, something we’re really interested in is the fact it doesn’t add any height to the bottle as some stoppers do. So you’ll actually be able to fit it along with the milk on your fridge door shelf.

To put it on the bottle, you - well, hopefully you learned that bit in sex education in school. And just like a real condom, you can slip it into your wallet so that it’s always available for emergency use.

You might want to avoid making eye contact whilst using one at dinner parties, but it’ll be worth it.

Your very own pack of six wine condoms is available for £12.99, so what are you waiting for?
