Apparently, it was necessary to call “seat save” at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards. That lesson was learned the hard way for Kesha, who sat on the floor at the VMAs after awards show officials somehow lost her seat.

Kesha was a presenter at the VMAs, and since presenters, you know, have seats, it was a funny/ridiculous moment when she had to literally sit on the floor because her seat had been given away. That would explain why the Rainbow singer posted a picture to social media of herself and a friend sitting on the floor, looking a little confused.

Because what is even happening?

However, based on this cute shot she posted of herself twirling in her gorgeous pink tulle Monsoori gown, we’re pretty sure she didn’t care too much about the floor situation.

Kesha wasn’t up for any awards, because her latest album was released too recently to snag nominations. But since she is in the midst of her musical comeback, and because she’s just an all-around badass human who has gone through a hell of a few years, she took the stage to speak about suicide prevention.

The singer introduced rapper Logic’s emotional performance of “1-800-273-8255,” which is also the phone number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. The song begins from the perspective of someone who calls the number and confesses that they “don’t want to be alive.”

The song delivers a beautiful message of hope and emphasizes that none of us are alone.
