Katie Price slapped with eviction notice and must be out of Mucky Mansion in days
Katie Price has been hit with an eviction notice at her notorious 'Mucky Mansion' and she's got just days to pack up and leave.
A snap of the letter, dated April 24th, 2024, was exclusively shared with Mirror Online by a passerby, revealing that "the eviction will take place on May 29th, 2024, at 10am". The eviction notice from Horsham County Court is addressed to Katie and "any other occupiers", instructing them "to arrange to leave the property with [their] belongings before this time and date".
The letter also explains: "The court has issued a warrant or writ for the possession of the above property (land) at the request of the claimant. A warrant gives a county court bailiff the authority to evict you and hand over possession to the claimant. A writ gives a High Court Enforcement Officer the authority to evict you and hand over possession to the claimant. In this notice the term 'Authorised Person' is used to refer to either the Bailiff or the High Court Enforcement Officer."
Earlier this month, it was reported that Katie was in danger of losing her £2million West Sussex home, known as the 'Mucky Mansion', due to her escalating financial troubles. The model made headlines recently when she skipped her second bankruptcy hearing to jet off to Cyprus with her new beau JJ Slater.
Katie was declared bankrupt for a second time earlier this year because of an unpaid tax bill of more than £750,000 owed to HM Revenue and Customs. Katie Price initially bought the house back in 2014, reportedly for a whopping £1.3million, and it was featured on her Channel 4 series.
However, things took a turn when, in March, a High Court ruling declared she may have to surrender half of her monthly earnings, reports the Mirror. It emerged that trustees had sought an income payment order, meaning money from Katie's earnings could be redirected towards settling her debts.
Joshua Harris, Bankruptcy Trustee at Harris and Partners, relayed to The Sun: "Price faces the risk of losing her £2million property, which highlights the severe realities of bankruptcy." Moreover, he shared: "In situations of substantial debt, asset repossession is a real threat, used by creditors to recover what they are owed. Not settling financial duties can lead to severe outcomes, including the loss of valuable assets and further financial hardship."
Back in October last year, Katie opened up saying she'd had enough of constantly having legal actions dangled over her head. She openly spoke about her bankruptcy status and mentioned she had frequented court "more times than I've had hot dinners", going as far as expressing that she wouldn't mind even if she ended up in prison.
Since then, Katie has explored alternative avenues for generating an income such subscription site OnlyFans and selling personalised shoutouts to her fans. As recent as March, the star defiantly told fans 'no one can take her Mucky Mansion', stating: "You've followed my life, my journey, I say it as it is. Yes, I'm in a bankruptcy. But guess what? I own my house. No one could take it off me as well."
