Very has launched the first Christmas advert of the year, celebrating all of the special moments that make up the festive season.
Soundtracked by Wizzard's much-loved 'I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day', the Very Christmas advert (watch above) chronicles one family's multiple festive occasions. From putting up decorations in autumn to attending multiple parties, it aims to spotlight how the joy of Christmas comes from being able to celebrate as long as possible.

'Christmas isn't just one day, it's lots of days,' says the mum at the start of the ad, who is then seen relaxing as her husband blows up a giant Santa in October. We then follow the family as they celebrate a 'birthday Christmas', 'kid-free Christmas' and 'work Christmas'. If you love making most of the holidays, then this ad is just for you.
'Our customers love Christmas, and we want to show how planning early means more time to enjoy the festive period,' says Robbie Feather, Managing Director (Retail) at The Very Group.
'Through celebrating the range of unique, and at times wildly different, celebrations that make up the season, we have aimed to highlight how Very can truly be the one-stop shop with the choice and range of products, gifts and brands to help people plan ahead.'
The advert kicks off Very's multi-media Christmas campaign running throughout the festive period, inviting us to embrace all the days which make Christmas so special.

Very Christmas advert 2021 recap
Very's Christmas advert for 2021 celebrated all the things we can only get away with at this time of year.
Set to a choir of carol singers performing a version of 'Holly Jolly Christmas', the ad featured a whole host of guilty pleasures, from dressing babies up in festive costumes to drinking gin in your PJs while binge-watching period dramas. This second visual followed on from an October advert celebrating early shoppers, which was the first major festive advert of the year, but both were part of the Very Best Excuses campaign.

Very Christmas advert 2020 recap
In 2020, Very's Christmas advert encouraged the nation to embrace every single moment in the countdown to Christmas Day. Described as 'charmingly honest', the advert sent the message that all the wonderfully festive moments in the build up to Christmas is something we should all embrace and treasure, too.
The advert ended on this note: 'Christmas is full of amazing moments. Christmas is this Very moment.'

Very Christmas advert 2019 recap
Last year's Christmas advert from Very celebrated the joy of a community coming together at Christmas time. It centred around the residents of Chester Street – with characters from previous Very.co.uk Christmas ads making an appearance – all coming together to make Christmas extra-special for elderly neighbour Sidney, who would otherwise be alone.

Very Christmas advert 2018 recap
'Find the gift that helps them find their gift' was the theme behind Very's 2018 Christmas advert. The festive ad, titled Elsie's Gift, was a short, 30-second animation telling the story of a schoolgirl named Elsie, who dreamt of being an astronaut. For Christmas, her parents gifted her with a toy astronaut helmet, which inspired Elsie to pursue her dream.
She left home to study Astrophysics at university, with the space helmet taking pride of place in her car. Fast forwarding some years, Elsie fulfilled her dream and became an astronaut in space, something which filled her parents with pride.
