Victoria Beckham's Spice Girls 'U-turn' after surprise 50th birthday reunion

After Spice Girls fans around the world went wild at the sight of the famous fivesome reuniting at Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday bash, a source told OK! that Posh Spice has "done a bit of a U-turn" on the idea of heading back out on the road with the band. While the group has reunited a number of times since their heyday in the mid 1990s, Victoria was absent from their subsequent reunion tours and had reportedly ruled out any chance of her re-joining.

But after reuniting and hitting the dancefloor with Geri Horner, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton and Melanie Chisholm at her star-studded 50th party last weekend, the fashion mogul is reportedly reconsidering. “Victoria has finally realised that she really does miss the girls. The kids are all growing up and are independent in their own ways, she's not the 'mum' so much now,” the source told OK!.

“Turning 50 and entering this new chapter has made her really appreciate her friendships with the girls and with Eva Longoria too. Having the girls at her party and spending time with them made her realise how much she loves and misses them all.”

Victoria and her bandmates ruled the pop world in the mid nineties, but the fivesome became a foursome when Geri left in 1998, and appearances with all original members have been few and far between. There's also been near-constant rumblings of feuds between various members, including talk of a recent fall-out between Geri and Victoria linked to the now-closed investigation into Geri's husband Christian Horner.

But our source said Victoria, now a mum-of-four and boss of her fashion empire, is “more open than ever before” to the idea of donning her infamous Little Black Dress once again with the women who were once her best friends.

“She has never really wanted to get back together because she's always said the Spice Girls are in the past, but now she's done a bit of a U-turn and is thinking 'gosh I need my friends',” they claimed. “A tour could happen now that she's had this realisation, Victoria is much more open to it than ever before.”

Mel B, AKA Scary Spice, added to the fan frenzy about Victoria re-joining when she reposted a video of the band dancing to Stop on her social media shortly after the lavish 50th party.

Victoria captioned the original video: “Best night ever! Happy Birthday to me!" I love you all so much! #SpiceUpYourLife", and when her bandmate reposted it, she’d added the tag #tourdatescomingsoon.

On whether she might be right, our source said: “We could see a lot more of them all together, they've got something special and unique but sometimes Victoria is the one who needs reminding of that. Mel B always says that Victoria can forget quite easily but gets reminded when she sees us.”

OK! has reached out to Victoria's representatives for comment.
