The grey wintery days of January don't just make us feel a little blue; they also make it very difficult to decide what to wear each morning. We're left with a choice between donning the same warm coat that we're sick of the sight of or something stylish that might negate functionality.

It isn't a quandary fashion hero Victoria Beckham struggles with. The designer showed us how staying warm and dry doesn't mean that you can't look great too.

She teamed a red wide-leg trouser suit with a contrasting light blue tulle top from her own collection and, of course, her trademark oversized sunglasses (not forgetting that huge umbrella, too).

Tailored wide-leg trousers have become a staple of the designer, and a trend in their own right as the industry veers even further away from skinny styles. Burberry and Stella McCartney have both shown similar versions in recent seasons, with celebrities including the Duchess of Sussex, Kate Moss and Amber Heard following suit. The appeal lies in the versatility of a wide leg - they can be worn during the week to the office with a heel or boot, then at the weekend with boxfresh trainers.

The other styling note to take from Beckham here is her use of colour. Sunset shades are a favourite of hers, and a welcome dose of cheer on a grey rainy day. The weather might be drab, but as Beckham proves, your outfit needn't be.
