Unsolved Mysteries volume 2 trailer teases look at six new cold cases

From Cosmopolitan

"Why is it important to find out why a person died nearly 25 years ago? People die all the time? Well, I think our family deserves to know what happened to her," the new trailer for Netflix's gripping true crime docu-series Unsolved Mysteries Volume 2 begins.

The second instalment of the series will probe six new unresolved cases of disappearances and deaths, and the teaser offers a brief look at the different mysteries, with friends and family members saying they're still desperate for answers.

As well as exploring cases outside of the US, executive producer Terry Dunn Meurer also previously revealed at least one of the new episodes will focus on the paranormal. Speaking to Variety about how they choose cases, Meurer said: "There are unexplained deaths and a missing person and a murder and paranormal. It’s always important to have a variety of categories - there’s something for everyone. Then we wanted to add in some international stories."

Meurer added, "Then we look at every other kind of diversity: we’ve got international versus domestic, we have rural versus urban, we have age diversity, we have ethnic and racial diversity."

The release of the first series on July 1st prompted a raft of credible tips, with the 2004 case of 23-year-old Alonzo Brooks receiving the most, said Meurer. A few weeks after the show aired, his body was exhumed and the FBI offered a $100,000 reward for further information.

The new trailer ends with a voice saying, "Somebody out there knows something." Hopefully this series produces just as many credible tips.

The six new episodes are titled:

  • Lady In The Lake

  • Tsunami Spirits

  • Stolen Kids

  • A Death In Oslo

  • Washington Insider Murder

  • Death Row Fugitive

Unsolved Mysteries Volume 2 is released on Netflix on 19th October.
