The Traitors star Maddy Smedley welcomes baby girl
The Traitors contestant and Hollyoaks actress Maddy Smedley has welcomed a baby girl and announced her sweet name.
Maddy and her partner Tom announced that they were expecting back in May, and now an Instagram post has confirmed the birth.
"Welcome to the world Shelby Rae, love you so much already," read the photo caption, alongside pictures of Maddy in bed cradling the newborn, who wears a knitted purple hat, with Tom at the bedside.
A follow-up video showed Maddy talking to her baby, saying that she looked "very purple" in her getup.
"Aren't you gorgeous?" she added.
"Shelby Rae our little girl – feel so lucky," she wrote in the caption, adding that the baby was born on Saturday, September 23, and weighed 6lb 3oz.
The Traitors host Claudia Winkleman and fellow contestants Theo Mayne and Faye Greaves were among those who wrote congratulatory messages for Maddy and Tom in the comments section of her post.
Maddy is currently starring in Hollyoaks as Faye Fuller, a talent agent who is meant to be working with influencer Rayne Royce but who actually prefers working with Lizzie Chen-Williams, much to Rayne's ire.
