Tensions were at an all-time high this week for the remaining contestants on The Traitors. After successfully banishing two traitors, who were pretending to be faithfuls, the group were determined to catch another person lying.

On Friday night, two main names were brought to the table as the group believed either Frankie or Leon to be a traitor. In the end, Leon had the most votes and was banished at the roundtable.

However, the group were disheartened when he revealed he was, in fact, faithful all along. During Saturday's instalment of BBC Breakfast, Leon spoke to Ben Thompson and Luxmy Gopal about his shock exit.

The BBC duo played a small clip of Leon being banished by the group as Luxmy asked how he felt. He replied: "Watching that back, it's a bit heartbreaking. Bittersweet, you know what I mean?

"I know how hard I tried to make sure that I was doing the right thing for the guys, for my team, for the faithful, and it just wasn't meant to be."

Speaking about his time on the show, Leon explained that the contestants have little to go on when trying to catch a traitor. He added, "You're clutching at straws, basically."

When Leon was axed from the show, it wasn't long before people watching took to Twitter to share their thoughts, with many left unimpressed with his banishment.

One person said: "NOOOOOOOO, NOT LEON being banished. Argh I'm p****d. I really wanted him to get to the final and potentially win. But still rooting for Minah my girl!"

Someone else commented: "Aw I feel so sorry for Leon, when he realised Freddie was feeling attacked and isolated because of the clique he made an effort to make sure he was okay and now he’s out."

Another viewer said, "Aww, Leon! " and someone else added, "Poor Leon is going to get blindsided."

After Leon was banished, host Claudia Winkleman announced the group were being treated to a dinner party.

While gathered together, each remaining contestant went around the table and spoke about what they would do if they won the prize money.

However, when the night was over, it was time for Minah and Charlotte to meet once again to decide who should be murdered next.

Opting not to recruit another player to join them as a traitor in the game, they decided that either Jake, Leanne or Joe would be next to go.

The Traitors continues on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays on BBC One from 9pm. BBC Breakfast continues weekdays on BBC One from 6am.
