Top Boy star pregnant as Adwoa Aboah reveals her growing baby bump on 2024 Met Gala red carpet

Congratulations are in order for Adwoa Aboah who has revealed that she is pregnant with her first child.

The British model and actress bared her baby bump in public for the first time as she attended the highly anticipated 2024 Met Gala in New York on Monday, 6 May, which was attended by celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Zendaya and Kendall Jenner.

As she posed for pictures on the famous red carpet, 31 year old Adwoa showed off her blossoming baby bump as she sported a stunning ruffled red crop top which she paired with a red sequinned bra in a nod to the The Garden of Time theme.

Finishing off the glam look, the actress - who played Becks in Netflix's Top Boy - accompanied her high neck top, by H&M, with a matching red puffed maxi skirt by the same brand and accessorised with a pair of pointed red heels.

For make-up, Adwoa opted for a natural, glowy base and paired the dewy look with a bright red lip and wore her hair in a slicked back bun which showed off her diamond drop earrings.

The model and activist isn’t the first star to use the Met Gala, which was hosted by rapper Bad Bunny this year, to share their exciting pregnancy news, and last year alone both Karlie Kloss and Serena Williams revealed that they were both expecting as they walked the red carpet.

While Adwoa tends to keep her love life away from the spotlight, in the past she has opened up about her views on romance and during an interview with British Vogue in February 2024 shared her ideal first date.

“Paintballing or karaoke. I love an adventure or doing something a bit weird,” she explained. The star also revealed her secret to making a relationship last, and added: “Friendship. You’ve got to be best friends at the core.”

Meanwhile, back in 2018, Adwoa opened up to British Vogue about her top tips for finding love in a digital age and stressed the importance of giving internet dating a go, being careful when searching through a date’s social media accounts and not playing games when it comes to romance.

“Who should get in touch first? How many minutes should you wait until you respond to a message? How many kisses should you put at the end of a text? You can drive yourself crazy overthinking this stuff, but my rule is that you have nothing to lose, so be yourself, trust your instincts and don’t play games,” she explained.
