Chanel's Haute Couture AW24/25 show in Paris once again reaffirmed the house's ability to effortlessly merge elegance with innovation – even without Virginie Viard at the helm. Following the unexpected news that the Artistic Director was stepping down from her role after five years (and three decades as part of the team), Chanel's latest collection was the work of the maison's 'Fashion Creation Studio' according to show notes, unveiled yesterday at the historic Palais Garnier opera house.
Suitably dramatic and richly embroidered, the collection permeated the house codes with an opulent, operatic and romantic twist – and, of course, it wouldn't be a Chanel sh0w without some tweed, elegantly tailored blazers and knee-length skirts. But there were a few reoccurring themes that caught our attention above all: namely, capes, bows and bridal-core.

The white dress is having a moment right now, even at Chanel Haute Couture – and we're not just talking about the Princess Diana-esque wedding gown that closed the show.
