Taylor Swift sent fans wild on Thursday, 15 August as she returned to London’s Wembley Stadium for the final string of shows for the European leg of the Eras Tour. Having previously performed three shows at the iconic venue back in June, Taylor, 34, made her return to the stage once more as she kicked off a five-day run at the stadium in what was her first concert since her shows in Vienna were cancelled.

As she entered the crowd during a set that lasted over three hours, the Love Story singer was joined by a familiar famous face. For the acoustic section of the show, Taylor was accompanied by friend and collaborator Ed Sheeran.

In a move that wowed fans, the pair performed a mash-up of their 2012 single Everything Has Changed as well as their 2017 song End Game. To round off the segment, they also performed a duet of Ed’s UK Number One single Thinking Out Loud.

“This is one of my best friends in the world to the point where I feel like he is a second brother of mine,” Taylor said as she introduced her close pal to the stage.

In response, fans took to X to express their excitement over the guest appearance. “Their friendship. Taylor even bowed to him. The respect and admiration she has for Ed and vice versa is just beautiful. Also, the fact that they’re the most followed artists in Spotify. Friendship goals. Icons. Legends,” wrote one.

“Find someone who looks at you the way Ed Sheeran looks at Taylor Swift #LondonTSTheErasTour,” another added. “Taylor singing an Ed Sheeran mashup was not on my bingo card today yet alone this year,” a third commented.

According to The Sun, Ed’s performance with Taylor “meant the world” to the You Belong With Me songstress on what was a “tough night” for the popstar.

“Ed and Taylor have been friends for well over a decade and are very close. He has seen how the last few weeks have impacted her and wanted to be there to support her,” a source told the publication. “It meant the world to Taylor to have him there on such a tough night.”

The show comes after three children died earlier this month after a knife attack at a Taylor Swift-themed event in Southport. In response to the horrifying event, Taylor wrote on social media: “The horror of yesterday's attack in Southport is washing over me continuously and I'm just completely in shock.

“The loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families, and first responders. These were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families.”

Just days later, her shows in Vienna were called off due to a possible security threat.
