Prince Harry is gearing up for a low-key 40th birthday bash in Montecito this Sunday, surrounded by his nearest and dearest. But it's what's planned after the candles are blown out that's got everyone talking. According to Express.co.uk, the Duke of Sussex is set to embark on an adventurous hike into the Californian mountains with his closest mates.

As he nears the big 4-0, Prince Harry is reportedly planning to conquer the Montecito peak, nestled along the Cold Spring Trail close to his home with Meghan and their two little ones, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3. A source revealed: "The Cold Spring Trail has lots of streams and pools which people regularly take a dip in," but warned, "But there are also lots of snakes and other wildlife to contend with, like large cats."

"Harry and his friends will truly experience the outdoors as they take on one of the long hikes. Let's hope he's taking an experienced guide with him", the Express spills the beans. As he stands on the cusp of a new decade, Prince Harry is said to be looking forward to diving into projects close to his heart, from expanding the Invictus Games to taking The Archewell Foundation to new heights internationally.

Moreover, this year has seen Prince Harry stir up some buzz with the news of a forthcoming non-fiction series with Netflix, part of the Sussexes' major deal with the streaming service. The series, primarily filmed at the US Open Polo Championship in Wellington, Florida, and The USPA National Polo Centre, is a collaboration with Boardwalk Pictures and promises viewers an exclusive glimpse into the high-stakes world of professional polo.

In other Royal news, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly planning a third overseas tour before the year's end. Africa is the likely destination, with Botswana and Lesotho under consideration - both countries where Prince Harry's charity Sentebale operates.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have previously enjoyed positive press coverage during their tours of Nigeria in May and Colombia last month. Prince Harry is also preparing for a solo trip to New York later this month to "advance a number of his patronages and philanthropic initiatives".

His visit coincides with UN General Assembly High-level Week and Climate Week, which runs from September 22 until September 29. He is also expected to attend a Diana Award event in honour of his late mother.
