Tuesday, 17 December was a big night for Keely Hodgkinson. Not only did the 22-year-old Olympic gold medallist take home the coveted Sports Personality of the Year award, but her custom gown for the night wowed absolutely everyone.

It's no great secret that sport and fashion are a match made in heaven, and the Olympic fever of the past year is far from over as more brands and designers take their couture inspiration from athletes and their craft.

So, when Keely glided down the red carpet in a custom gown by south London designer KNWLS in collaboration with global sportswear brand Nike, were we shocked? No. Were we obsessed? Oh, absolutely.

The stunning gown featured a sleek floor-length silhouette, with expertly placed cutouts around the chest and shoulders. Full-length sheer gloves covered her arms and, if you look closely, you can spot Nike's iconic tick logo adorned across the entire dress.

She finished the ensemble with Messika jewellery, pointed black pumps and a slick back pony to show of the plunging low back.

Keely told Elle UK ahead of last night the look was 'unique, one of a kind, special, and a bit edgy,' and she hit the nail on the head.

The dress seamlessly fused KNWLS' signature sultry, slinky aesthetic with Nike's dynamic athleticism, a promising glimpse of what could be an even broader embrace of sports by the fashion world in 2025.

It's also not the first time Nike has collaborated with other cutting-edge fashion brands this year. Naomi Osaka sported custom Nike x Yoon Ahn ensembles for the US Open in August, and their collection with French designer Jacquemus was a luxury fave among the style set.

2025 is sure to bring big things for Keely – perhaps in the world of fashion, as well as sport – and we can't wait to see what comes next.
