Sonic the Hedgehog Spinoff Series Knuckles Sets Paramount+ Release Date, Reveals Full Cast — Watch Trailer

The Sonic Cinematic Universe is expanding this spring. Paramount+ has set a Friday, April 26 release date for all six episodes of Knuckles, a spinoff series picking up immediately after the events of 2022’s Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

The live-action/CGI hybrid series follows Knuckles on a “hilarious and action-packed journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade Whipple as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior.”

Idris Elba returns as the voice of Knuckles, along with Adam Pally, who once again plays Wade. Ben Schwartz and Colleen O’Shaughnessey will also briefly return to voice Sonic and Tails, who make a quick appearance in Knuckles, along with special guest star Tika Sumpter, who reprises her role as Maddie.

Joining the Sonic universe via Knuckles are Stockard Channing (The West Wing), Edi Patterson (The Righteous Gemstones), Scott Mescudi (Don’t Look Up), Ellie Taylor (Ted Lasso), Julian Barratt (The Great), Rory McCann (Game of Thrones), Cary Elwes (Stranger Things), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), Paul Scheer (Black Monday) and Rob Huebel (Childrens Hospital).

Knuckles was created for TV by Sonic the Hedgehog 2 writer John Whittington and showrunner Toby Ascher. Whittington, who serves as head writer, wrote Knuckles‘ pilot, with additional episodes written by Brian Schacter and James Madejski.
