'She's my baby': Emma Bunton celebrates Tate's 13th birthday with rare pictures
While Emma Bunton may be a household name, the former Spice Girl is known for keeping her two children far away from the limelight, rarely posting them to social media.
But this week, the singer, 48, took to Instagram to mark her youngest child Tate's 13th birthday with a sweet post, giving an insight into the birthday celebrations. In the carousel of snaps posted, birthday banners and pink balloons could be seen around Emma's home, while Tate had a personalised chocolate cake.
The family enjoyed a pre-birthday dinner at Shoreditch House's Japanese restaurant Pen Yen, while Tate's friends appeared to be there celebrating on the day with an at-home party. Captioning the snap, Emma wrote: "My baby is 13!!!! Strong, loving, funny and fierce. Showing us all how to be kind, understanding and truly be yourself.
"Tate you’re a shining light in this world. #thebest #shesmybaby #happybirthday". Emma shares Tate with her husband Jade Jones, alongside their 16-year-old son Beau.
In one picture, only Tate's back could be seen as Emma does not show their face online, with the teen's long locks visible as they sat alongside two pals. While Tate's back could also be seen in another picture, which was taken at the beach, donning a pink tie-die tracksuit.
A number of celebrities took to the comment section to wish Tate a very happy birthday, including Emma's pal Paloma Faith, who wrote: "Happy Birthday to them and YOUUUUUU". Michelle Visage also wrote: "HAPPY HAPPY DAY TATE" as a number of fans also shared their well wishes.
Emma and her husband Jade, who was the lead singer of 90s boy band Damage, have been together for 26 years, but only tied the knot back in 2021.
Her son Beau has an Instagram account and went public with his girlfriend Grace Freeman last year, who is the daughter of Sherlock and The Hobbit actor Martin Freeman and his ex-partner Amanda Abbington, after Beau tagged her on social media in one of the photos. Tate is not known to have social media accounts yet.
Emma has been busy celebrating numerous birthdays recently, as she reunited with her fellow Spice Girl bandmates for Victoria Beckham's 50th last month.
Posh Spice marked the milestone age with a lavish do' at Private Member's club Oswald's in London's Mayfair, with Emma, Melanie Chisholm, Melanie Brown and Geri Horner all supporting their former bandmate.
As the quintet reunited for the big day, Victoria's husband David shared a clip from inside the bash of the former band all singing together once again - something which had fans hopeful of an impending reunion.
While nothing has yet been confirmed, it may not be too far fetched, as Mel B recently told OK! there have been 'talks'. “Us five are in talks to do something,” Mel coyly said. “And it will be coming out pretty soon.”
