Annie Phillips is one of our favourites when it comes to fashion and upcycling ideas and her latest project for her son is no exception.

Keen to not throw some left over fabric away, the Great British Sewing Bee winner from 2022 decided it was time for her next craft and sewing project which was a gorgeous handmade quilt for her young son's room.

Sharing a video of how she made the special cover, we can see Annie cut up shirts, stitch them together, add extra layers for warmth and some detailed stitches. This was completed with a chic and classic scallop edging.

She captioned the Instagram video: "A little project upcycle for my baby boy’s room. I used the leftover deadstock from my @uniqloeurope workshop last month as I didn’t want to see it go to waste and kinda love the more muted tones for his room. I’m thinking some bunting next."

Annie shared the completed blanket laid in her child's cot bed and it wasn't long before her social media followers were flocking to compliment her on the 'absolutely beautiful' piece she made.

User @emmalounoo wrote: "So nice Annie, something to pass down to the next generation aswell."

Another compliment was from @belclear who said: "This looks so good. I love the scalloped edges."

"Absolutely beautiful," wrote @greerduru.

This isn't the first time Annie has impressed us with her creations as in recent months she's also made a stunning handmade quilt, a homemade dress and even the cutest adult winter bonnet.

We look forward to seeing all her new upcycling projects this year!
