Robotic Cat Companion Created For Elderly
Hasbro have created a robotic cat aimed at bringing comfort to the elderly.
According to the toymakers website, the “gift of comfort companionship and joy,” can be purchased for $99.99, including batteries (currently only available in the US).
The bot comes in three different colours, can detect motion and reacts to strokes by purring happily. There’s no risk of scratches, fur balls or aloof behaviour as these kitties are only programmed to be happy, relaxed or asleep.
Remember how excited you were about Furbies? Well maybe your nan will feel the same about a robotic cat toy? Probably not though. She’d most likely prefer the monetary value, a cup of tea and a natter with a real life human being.
