Reese Witherspoon has written her first novel
Actor Reese Witherspoon has announced that she has written her first novel. She teamed up with novelist Harlan Coben to write a thriller, which will be published in autumn 2025.
The title is yet to be confirmed but will be based on an original idea from Witherspoon. Witherspoon and Coben say they "have been developing the concept, creating characters and writing pages over many months".
"To say I am a fan of Harlan’s body of work is a massive understatement," said Witherspoon. "Scheming with Harlan on how to thrill audiences with mysterious characters and complex narrative twists and turns has already been more fun than I can describe."
Coben is the author of the hugely successful Myron Bolitar series, as well as 19 standalone thrillers. Several of his books have been adapted for TV, most recently Fool Me Once starring Richard Armitage and Joanna Lumley. Another adaptation - Missing You - is coming on Netflix soon.
"Once we began discussing her idea, there was no turning back," said Coben. "Collaborating with Reese has been a pure joy and so creatively rewarding. I could not be more excited about putting this novel out into the world."
