Reality TV star dead at 37 after heart attack
A reality TV star who lost an incredible 32 stone has died has died after suffering a heart attack while sleeping in bed, it was reported today. Gabriel Freitas appeared on a the Brazilian series Become Another Person where viewers followed his remarkable weight loss journey going from more than 50 stone to just 18 stone following an enormous lifestyle change.
He died aged just 37 on December 30, according to close friend Ricardo Gouvea, following a troubled time that saw him put the weight back on following the death of both his dad and brother, reports the Mirror, which says that he weighed nearly 60 stone when he died.
Ricardo paid tribute to his late friend, saying: "Gabriel died practically sleeping, he didn't suffer. He died trying. He fought to the end, he was very strong and I have a lot of respect for him. He was a very good person with a very good heart."

Before he died the star was due to take on a new challenge of attempting to drop down to 15 stone without the help of either weight-loss jabs or surgery.
Gabriel had been tracking his weight loss on a YouTube channel he started seven years ago called My Parallel Universe, where he told followers: "I decided to share my struggle to lose weight with all of you in order to help you with motivation and to show that it is possible to lose weight without surgery or medication.
"Here you'll see all the changes from a guy who weighed 320kg to the body he always dreamed of. Welcome to my life."
