It's been three years since Sheena Lynch joined the Real Housewives of Cheshire after being persuaded by her Boyzone star husband Shane. However, the 45-year-old star has banned her youngest daughter from watching her on the small screen, admitting it's not appropriate for the youngster.

Talking exclusively to OK! this week, we asked what her two kids think of the show, as Sheena admitted: "My 11-year-old (Marley Mae) is not allowed to watch the programme because it’s probably not suitable for a child.

"Billie Rae, who is 15, isn’t the slightest bit interested and doesn’t want to watch it. Because of her dad, she is so used to him being in the public eye since she was born – she just doesn’t want to watch her mum on TV."

Sheena, who was previously a successful backing singer and worked with the likes of Westlife and Blur, shares her two daughters with Shane, who she has been with since 2000. The pair married in an intimate ceremony in 2007 and have been going strong ever since. However, they have been open about going through a rough patch during lockdown, which Sheena assures they have come out the other side of.

She explains: "When lockdown happened, I did get a bit down. We both did. We needed a break. I think being offered RHOC came at the right time for me. We are now very happy living in Cheshire. It’s a gorgeous place to live, and even the kids are very happy here and don’t want to go back to London. It’s like a new beginning for all of us."

Shane has also now retired from showbusiness, admitting last year that he would not be performing again alongside Boyzone, but giving his blessing for bandmates Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy and Mikey Graham to 'crack on without me' if they wish.

This means that the dynamics at home have changed for the family, too. Sheena explains: " Shane is spending more and more time at home. We now have a few new businesses up here, so that keeps him busy. He also does most of the cooking now, which he loves. When we first had kids, I would do all the cooking, but now he has completely taken over."

And with Shane being at home more, he was also the one who convinced Sheena to give reality TV ago on the Real Housewives. "He was the one who pushed me to do it. I don’t think that I would have joined RHOC had he not talked me into it. So for that, I have to thank him," she shares.
