The Crow Girl series 2 is coming - and we need answers!
It's the Broadchurch-esque drama that's been keeping us on our toes and now that we've successfully binged all six episodes of The Crow Girl on Paramount+, we have some questions. A lot of them in fact.
The chilling story follows DCI Jeanette Kilburn (Eve Myles), as she investigates the grisly killings of several teenage boys - and naturally, we were hoping for all loose ends to be neatly tied up by the end of the series. Were they? Of course they weren't.
The good news is that at the end of the first series, the credits read "to be continued" - which that means, another instalment is coming (in fact, Paramount+ have confirmed it). And when it does, these are the questions we need answered...
Will Sophia be exposed?
In series one, DCI Jeanette Kilburn enlisted the help of psychotherapist Dr Sophia Craven (Katherine Kelly) to find the killer. But little did she know, her new friend was a lot more involved than she could ever have imagined. In the final episode, much to our horror, we saw Jeanette fall for Sophia’s charms (argh!). So the question is: will Sophie ever be exposed for who she really is?
What will happen with Jeanette and Sophie?
More to the point, how on earth did Jeanette end up falling for Sophia in the first place? Yes, she’d discovered her partner DI Lou Slater (Dougray Scott) was corrupt and her marriage collapsed, so we’ll give her that, but seriously? The pair kissed in the closing minutes of the final episode, so what now? Will they end up together? Surely not…
Will Jeanette finally arrest those responsible for the illegal fighting?
We learnt that the young boys who had been murdered were all asylum seekers in the UK and they were being paid to take part in fights after being pumped full of drugs to dull the pain. After each fight, which resulted in a death, the corpse was taken away, frozen and fed to the pigs. But did Jeanette uncover the truth and arrest those responsible? No, she didn't. We can only hope this will be addressed in series two and they'll be held to account.
Will the second series be as jaw-dropping as the first?
It's been a while since we watched a series as jaw-dropping as this one: the abuse, the murders, the fights. We're still digesting it all to be honest. We're also wondering if a second series could possibly be as dark and disturbing as the first? Truthfully, we think we know the answer to this one - it's got to be, right?
Haven't watched The Crow Girl yet? The Crow Girl is available to watch now on Paramount+. We'll keep you posted on details about the second series.
