Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice are in the midst of one of their busiest years: between royal weddings, milestone birthdays (Beatrice turns 30 this month) and engagements aplenty, the daughters of Prince Andrew have been non-stop.

When they aren’t stood on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for outings like Trooping the Colour, Beatrice reportedly works at US technology firm Afiniti as an outsourcing strategist, while Eugenie is associate director at prestigious art gallery, Hauser & Wirth.

So just how do they manage to juggle royal duties with everything else?

Speaking to British Vogue as part of the magazine’s September issue, the princesses share their experiences of life as twenty-somethings while being part of the most famous family in Britain.

“It’s hard to navigate situations like these because there is no precedent, there is no protocol,” Beatrice, 29, says.

“We are the first: we are young women trying to build careers and have personal lives, and we’re also princesses and doing all of this in the public eye.”

Eugenie, 28, is due to marry Jack Brooksbank in October at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, the same location Harry and Meghan wed in May.

“I’m not stressed at all,” Eugenie said of her upcoming nuptials. “It’s very nerve-wracking because you want it to be perfect but then you realise that you’re going to be with the person you love forever and nothing else really matters.”

In terms of wedding planning, the princess revealed that one of her biggest ‘musts’ is for the day to be entirely plastic-free.

“It’s been eye-opening,” the bride-to-be says. “My whole house is anti-plastic now – and Jack and I want our wedding to be like that as well.”

Princess Eugenie joined Instagram officially in March and posts photos from her various official engagements, various issues close to her heart and insights into her wedding planning process.

Beatrice is yet to go official with her Instagram, but close friend Karlie Kloss inadvertently revealed her secret handle after announcing her engagement.

“It’s so easy to recoil when you see a perfect image, but it’s important that it’s real. We’re real,” Eugenie asserts.

Talking about their biggest sisterly row, Beatrice joked: “One of the biggest fights we ever had was about a pair of Converse trainer.

“We have the same size feet and both of us had identical pairs. One pair got trashed and the other sister may have swapped them.”

It’s nice to know even princess sisters fight over clothes, just like us.
