Prince Harry admits he panics when he bumps into his grandmother the Queen, in a new ITV documentary about the royal family.

In a trailer for the series Queen of The World, the Duke of Sussex is filmed talking to a team of enterprising hospitality professionals from the Caribbean, who join a new scheme at the Palace.

He tells them: You guys have spent way more time in Buckingham Palace than I ever have – and you’ve only been here two weeks!”

He adds: “Have you bumped into the Queen yet? If you suddenly bump into her in the corridor, don’t panic. I know you will. We all do.”

The focus of the two-part series will be on the Queen, her role as an important figure on the global stage, and how she is helping younger members of the royal family connect with the Commonwealth.

Prince Harry’s wife Meghan will also give her first interview since marrying into the royal family, on the programme.

The trailer shows the Duchess of Sussex being reunited with her Givenchy bridal gown for the first time since her wedding day on May 19, as Royal Collection specialists prepare the dress for a new exhibition.

Her veil, measuring 5 metres in length, is of particular significance, as it features hand-embroidered flora to represent all the nations of the Commonwealth.

In the teaser, the Duchess examines the stunning creation and says: “53 countries, oh my goodness, it’ll keep us busy.”

Harry was appointed Commonwealth Youth Ambassador earlier this year and Meghan has joined him on a number of engagements in his new role.

The royal couple are embarking on their first tour to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga next month, where the emphasis will be on connecting young people across the Commonwealth.

The documentary will also feature Princess Anne as she watches footage of her first ever trip on the Royal Yacht with her brother Prince Charles, after six months apart from their parents during the great post-Coronation Commonwealth tour.

The Princess Royal says: “We were kept very busy. There was lots to do, all sorts of places to go and things to keep clean, lots of scrubbing and polishing, that was part of our role.”

Queen Of The World starts on 25 September, 9pm, ITV
