Pregnant Kate Middleton Looks The Picture Of Health During Portsmouth Sailing Visit
The Duchess of Cambridge flattered her growing baby bump in a flared Max Mara coat
It looks like a few weeks rest in the Caribbean has done the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge a world of good.
Because the 33-year-old looked the picture of health as she made a public appearance in Portsmouth today, Feb 12.
Catherine sported a subtle golden glow and naturally lighter locks as she visited the new home of Ben Ainslie Racing and the 1851 Trust, of which she is a patron, in the historic naval city.
The 1851 Trust aims to get more young people into sailing and also bring the America’s Trust back to Britain.
Prince William’s expectant wife donned a fit-and-flare Max Mara coat-dress for the visit which flattered her six-month baby bump.
However we’re not sure how sensible her sartorial choice was considering she spent the morning painting a mural with young children.
Luckily it didn’t get in the way of her enjoying some creative fun with the youngsters as she was pictured trying her hand painting a mural (let’s just hope some of the younger children didn’t splatter paint on her designer coat.)
The mural, led by the local community, features the southern coast from Portsmouth to Ryde and has been painted by pupils from six different schools – and now a certain Duchess.
Later today, she’ll attend a reception at the Spinnaker Taker to meet members of the Portsmouth community involved in the Ben Aislie Racing project.
She’ll also view exhibits that are set to become part of the Visitor Centre at the 1851 Trust, the headquarters of which will open in Portsmouth later this year.
The Berkshire-born royal has been involved in sailing since she was young and even crewed a boat in the Solent during her gap year, before she met Wills at St. Andrews university.
She was also took the helm of an America’s Cup sailing boat during her family’s Royal Tour to Australia and New Zealand, beating her husband 2-0.
Ben Aislie has said in the past that he’s offered Prince George sailing lessons – but the Duchess suggested he wait a couple of years, until he’s that bit older.
"The Duchess was very keen but not for a couple of years yet—when he's about 7 or 8,” the Olympian revealed.
"But we'd love to get the Duchess sailing sooner. She's very keen and of course we'd love to get her out on the water - she doesn't get to do it much now."
