Peter Andre reveals baby daughter's name after weeks of debate as he and Emily say 'We've finally decided'
Peter Andre, 51, and Emily MacDonagh, 34, have finally announced the name of their newborn baby daughter -Arabella Rose Andréa - almost a month after she was born on Tuesday, 2 April. The couple are now proud and doting parents to three children - including Amelia, 10, and Theo, seven - as well as Peter's older children, Princess, 16, and Junior, 18.
Their fans have been waiting with baited breath for an official announcement from the pop star, after he previously revealed they were struggling to choose a name and had taken to calling her 'bubba' for the first few weeks of her life.
Emily was the one who shared the news of the newborn's name, with a sweet photo on Instagram. She captioned it: "It’s taken a while but after lots of deliberation we’ve finally decided. Arabella Rose Andréa. Thank you to the lovely Sarah Deakin @curation_studio for the beautiful photos!"
Before they finally settled on Arabella Rose Andréa, Peter took to his social media to seek inspiration and advice from his army of fans. At the time, he revealed he'd narrowed it down to two, but said he and Emily were still undecided, saying: "Athena is also in the running. Not sure how ems feels about it but I LOVE it." He also told another fan that "Charlotte is also in the running. I like Charlie."
When the Mysterious Girl singer and his doctor wife shared their first adorable pictures of their bundle of joy with OK! when they announced her arrival the day after the birth. Alongside photos of himself and Emily cuddling the little one, Peter said: "Just minutes old……We feel so overwhelmed right now. So happy to welcome our beautiful girl to the family.
"Mum and daughter are doing amazing. Born Tuesday 2nd April 2024, 7lb 3oz and thankfully very healthy. Baby has been spoilt with cuddles from Junior, Princess, Amelia and Theo who are all in love with their new little sister. As parents, we couldn’t be happier."
When the couple spoke exclusively to OK! about all things pregnancy for our special Christmas photo shoot, Emily said they were already struggling on choosing names ahead of time. She said she preferred "traditional names that are easy to pronounce and spell” after witnessing her own dad manage his Irish-spelled Ruaraidh.
She shared: “When I was pregnant with Millie, we named her Rose, but when she was born, I thought, ‘She’s not a Rose,’ so we won’t decide beforehand. We’ll probably have our top three or four.”
