The one life lesson “badass” Jennifer Coolidge taught her White Lotus co-star
The White Lotus series 3 is almost here and we can't wait to see what the new season has in store, especially now we know that Belinda from series 1 (played by Natasha Rothwell) is returning for the new season.
As fans of the show may remember, most of Belinda's scenes were opposite the now iconic Tanya (played by Jennifer Coolidge), so Natasha sat down with GH to tell us all about what Jennifer was really like to work with - including the key life lesson she taught her - and what's in store for her character next.
"She's incredible, and she's just uniquely her through and through," said Natasha, of what Jennifer Coolidge was like behind the scenes.
"I think that I spent a lot of my younger years not being okay being me," she added, reflecting on what she'd taken away from her time working with the star. "So when you meet someone that's so unapologetically themselves, it's inspiring. Just to be around someone who knows themselves so well and has given themselves permission to be them."
"It's really cool to be around strong, badass women who don't give up," Natasha said.
At the end of season one, we saw Jennifer's character Tanya let Belinda (Natasha Rothwell) down by withdrawing her offer to support her business - so where does that leave Belinda for season 3?
"In season one, she's devastated and heartbroken, having had Tanya promise her the world and give her nothing. And so some time has passed in between and we see her on this trip for work, but she also gets to cross the line from being just an employee in hospitality, to being a guest," revealed Natasha. "She's auditioning a new version of herself while she's on holiday...while also having to retain this work position, so we see that tension."
Natasha also shared that her character's son will have a part to play in her storyline, saying, "We see her with her son, so she gets to be a mother and we see all these different facets of her, which I think is really exciting."
The White Lotus launches on Sky and streaming service NOW on Monday 17 February.
