Of Course Gwyneth Paltrow’s Starting 2016 With A Scary Detox And An Organic Make-Up Launch

Gwyneth Paltrow’s been dolling out tips on how to eat, exercise and live like her for years now, so naturally the next step is to release a make-up line so we can all look like her too. And, as this is Gwynnie we’re talking about, so her cosmetic line is obviously 100 per cent organic and vegan.

Taking her green love to the next level, she’s teamed up with Juice Beauty to design a range of eco-friendly and plant-derived beauty buys (known as the Phyto-Pigments Colour collection) for her fanbase – instead of launching the collection through her lifestyle site goop.

“The company is kind of my dream in terms of alignment,” Paltrow told Well + Good. “I really believe in what Karen (Behnke, Juice Beauty’s CEO) is doing for the sustainability of the planet… She’s really the leader in these practices. It’s very important as a woman, as a mother, and as someone who preaches a non-toxic lifestyle.”

The collection is no small feat. It boasts 78 products, including lipsticks, make-up brushes, concealers, eye shadow sticks and liquid foundations. But wearing the same make-up as a Hollywood star doesn’t come cheap. Since everything’s certified organic, Paltrow’s range will set you back around £13 for an eyeliner and £29 for a foundation.

But the 43-year-old’s convinced there’s a huge market for her new venture, which is probably true.

“Obviously we’re living in an age where we’re all becoming more and more aware of link between what we’re ingesting and adverse effects on our health,” said Paltrow.

“Ten or 15 years ago with organic food, people didn’t understand it, and now we have this mass movement. [Today] people are really understanding now how absorbent an organ the skin is … how applying toxic chemicals on our skin is not good for us.”

News of the mum-of-two’s new endeavor comes days after she announced her 2016 cleanse, which includes clean meals, moon juice and the chance of dry heaving. We’d expect nothing more from Paltrow’s annual week long detox.

Working with an Ayuerveda spa called Surya, her menu cuts out practically everything us mere mortals usually chow down on: gluten, dairy, corn, soy, caffeine, alcohol, added sugar, red meat, white rice and even tomatoes, aubergine, peppers and potatoes.

But she assures her fans isn’t not about starvation, but merely a simple way to reset their palate and give their gut a break after Christmas.
