'The Night Agent' Season 3: Everything We Know
Netflix’s hit show The Night Agent just finished releasing its second season, but the third is already in production, but fans probably don’t think it can come fast enough.
Until it arrives, here’s everything we know about season three of The Night Agent so far (while we’re waiting). Warning: some spoilers ahead.
What will season 3 of The Night Agent be about?
The first season is based on the novel of the same title by Matthew Quirk, which follows an FBI agent named Peter Sutherland, played by Gabriel Basso, with a nothing job at the White House. Every night, he’s in charge of a phone that doesn’t ring, until one day it does and changes his life forever. The call is from cybersecurity expert Rose Larkin, played by Luciane Buchanan, and it sets off a dramatic chain of events that upends both their lives.
Season two dealt with the fallout, after they’re both nearly killed during a mission that forces him to abandon his life, job, and handler, Catherine Weaver, played by Amanda Warren. Together, Peter, Rose, and Catherine reunite to stop a biological weapon from going off inside the United Nations, but not without ruining their own relationships. Peter is left working for both the FBI and as a double agent for Jacob Monroe, played by Louis Herthum. The third season will probably see Peter walking a very delicate tightrope indeed.
Who is cast in season 3 of The Night Agent?
Basso is expected back as Peter, of course, though it is unclear if Luciane Buchanan will be back as Rose given how they part in the season two finale — but it would make good drama if she did. Amanda Warren may return as Catherine, and Ward Horton, Fola Evans-Akingbola, and Albert Jones have been made series regulars, according to Variety, as Hagan, Secret Service agent Chelsea Arrington, and FBI deputy director Aiden Mosley.
Additional cast announced so far include Jennifer Morrison as the First Lady, Genesis Rodriguez as a journalist, Stephen Moyer, David Lyons, and Callum Vinson. Suraj Sharma is also slated to play a guest role.
Has season 3 of The Night Agent started production?
Production began in 2024, starting in Istanbul, before moving to New York in early 2025. There has not yet been a premiere date announcement.
