“Nanny 911 ”Star's Daughter Reveals the Last Words She Spoke to Mom the Night Before She Died of Cancer at Age 57
Two days after Deborah Finck's death, Katerina posted a tearful video to address her mother's hundreds of thousands of followers on social media
Nanny 911 star Deborah Finck's daughter Katerina is speaking out after her mom's death at age 57 earlier this week.
On Thursday, Jan. 16, the young TikToker recorded a video to address the tragic news, which followed five years of Katerina documenting Deborah's health journey with leiomyosarcoma, a rare soft tissue cancer, on social media.
"My mother was the most beautiful, kind, amazing person anyone could ever meet, and she really showed that in her videos," Katerina said through tears in her recent post, referring to Deborah's personal TikTok and Instagram pages, which total over 800,000 followers at the time of her death.
She went on to recount how her mom always made sure to say "goodnight" to her family members, because "you were never sure when the last night would be," said Katerina.
"I'm really glad that we did that because Monday night, she wasn't feeling good, and I said 'goodnight' to her. And remember I went up to her and I said, 'Can I have a mommy hug?'"
Deborah's youngest daughter continued. "We have a thing where squeezing your hand twice means 'I love you,' and so I did it, and she did it back."
Katerina added that she then held her mother's face and told her, "Mommy, I love you. Goodnight. I'll see you tomorrow" before they both went to bed. In the wake of her mother's death, the sibling of six says she's been in disbelief and has felt "empty."
Despite the fact that she expected Deborah's eventual death, Katerina said she didn't anticipate the feeling of being without her "best friend."
"My mom taught us the saying, 'Always be happy, don't be sad, because life is really, really good,'" she continued, sharing that Deborah loved her social media followers and making videos for them. "I really appreciate you guys being here for her and supporting her and loving her, because I believe that it really helped her get through this."
To conclude, Katerina said she will continue to post online and give daily updates on her life in the same way her mother would.
"She really taught me a lot, that just being yourself and sharing what you think really can make an impact and help someone," she concluded. "That's all I want to do."
In addition to Katerina's posts about Deborah's death, her husband Paul also took to social media to announce the news.
"Deborah was my partner in every sense of the word—my confidant, my rock, the love of my life, and my eternal soul mate. Together, we built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories I will cherish forever," Paul wrote beside a young photo of them together.
"Deborah, my love, you were my everything, and losing you is a pain I cannot put into words. But I will carry you with me in every step I take, every decision I make, and every moment I live," he continued. "Rest now, my love. Your battle is over, and you are free. Until we meet again, you will always be in my heart."
