Here’s How Much It Will Cost You To Visit New Orleans During Super Bowl Weekend

Ahead of the big game on Sunday, you can now score Super Bowl tickets for just under $4,000 — 50% less than this time last year, CNN reported. And while that may be a “deal,” the thousands of dollars you have to shell out for tickets is just the beginning of the costs you can expect to pay, with local hotel prices surging.

Here’s how much it will cost you to travel to New Orleans during Super Bowl weekend.

How Inflated Are Travel Prices?

According to a Priceline report, flight prices to New Orleans for Super Bowl weekend have increased by just 3.8% compared to the same time period — Feb. 7-10 — in 2023. However, hotel rates and rental car rates have both increased significantly, with average hotel rates surging by 85.6% to $475 per night and the average daily rental car rate rising by 25.6% to $92.

Still, hotel prices are a steal compared to the all-time high reached in 2022 when the Super Bowl took place in Los Angeles — the average daily rate that year was $819 for Super Bowl weekend.

How Much It Costs To Fly To New Orleans for the Super Bowl

Priceline also found the average prices for flights to New Orleans from several major cities during Super Bowl weekend. The most expensive flights originate in Newark, New Jersey, with an average price of roughly $481. Here’s a look at the average prices for flights to New Orleans from Feb. 7-10:

  • EWR (Newark Liberty International Airport): $481.18

  • ATL (Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport): $108.11

  • DFW (Dallas Fort Worth International Airport): $114.65

  • JFK (John F. Kennedy International Airport): $196.96

  • CLT (Charlotte Douglas International Airport): $239.68

  • DTW (Detroit Metropolitan Airport): $358.60

  • MCO (Orlando International Airport): $148.98

  • DEN (Denver International Airport): $238.96

  • TPA (Tampa International Airport): $252.38

  • SJC (San Jose Mineta International Airport): $409.16
