This Morning's Dermot O'Leary 'mortified' over Alison Hammond blunder
Dermot O'Leary confessed he was "mortified" after he threw a coffee bean into co-presenter Alison Hammond's mouth on Friday's episode of This Morning.
The presenters were discussing the upcoming cooking segment which was due to show how baking cakes doesn't have to be complicated, when Dermot, 50, picked something up from the table and asked Alison if she thought she would be able to catch some food in her mouth.
Alison was up for the challenge as she insisted: "Absolutely, do a good one though!"
Dermot then stood up and threw an item from one of the cakes to which his co-star managed to catch it in her mouth on the first try.
But Alison's look of delight quickly turned to one of disgust as she tasted what Dermot had thrown.
A puzzled Alison then questioned with a grimace: "What is it?" to which it was explained that it was actually a chocolate covered coffee bean.
Alison was quick to shout: "Oh, it's horrible! Why would you even give me that?"
"I didn't know what it was," Dermot admitted, with an embarrassed red-faced look at his colleague. "I thought it was a raisin or something," he explained.
"Oh gosh!" Alison exclaimed, as Dermot told her: "I am so sorry."
Alison groaned: "Get me a tissue! You've literally just given me a coffee bean, who would want a coffee bean? Oh, that's absolutely disgusting!"
The presenter then had to spit out the coffee bean to which Dermot added: "I'm absolutely mortified!"
Someone suggested that Alison should munch some on some peach from the cooking demo to help her get the taste out of her mouth but she replied: "No, it's alright."
But she did ask for a tissue so she could spit out the bean and Dermot rushed off to get one for her.
The on-screen mishap comes after Alison's new man was revealed as Russian masseur David Putman last week and the This Morning presenter has recently also shocked fans once again by giving herself a make-over.
Taking to TikTok, Alison, 49, shared a clip of herself with copper hair rather than her signature dark locks, leading fans to comment on the 'stunning' look below the video.
Over the clip, Alison played the song It's the Hard-Knock Life from Annie, captioning it: "Always wanted to be Annie !! Love ginger hair".
