This Morning chaos as Ben Shephard says 'calm the dog down' as show surprises winner at home
This Morning’s house makeover segment of the show was interrupted by hysterically barking dogs as Linda Barker went into the home.
Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard were presenting the show on Thursday 13 June when it was Linda’s turn to take to the screen.
Walking along a residential road, she announced one lucky winner was about to have their living room decorated as part of their competition. When she reached the home, winner Natalie came to the door thrilled to have Linda and the team there - but her dogs weren’t too happy.
The continuous barking prompted Ben who was watching from the studio to say “someone needs to calm that dog down”.
As Natalie came to the door to welcome Linda the dogs began to bark. Linda commented: “The dogs are all going mad!”
She continued to say to Natalie: “We’re here to surprise you for your front room. Tell us why we’re here, why did we write in?”
Natalie replied: “Because I’ve lived here for two years, I had my grandchildren and children live with me, so we’ve never decorated and I just need some inspiration.”
All the while, Natalie’s dogs were loudly barking.
As Linda went to have a look at Natalie’s front room, the dogs were running around, still barking.
Natalie shushed her pooches while Linda laughed and said: “Love dog action, they’re your little fur babies. We’re going to look after them.”
Meanwhile, fans took to social media casting doubt as to whether Natalie’s shock was genuine. One viewer said: ‘"it's a complete surprise!" As they open the door with a full face of makeup, dangle earrings, dressed with coat on and hair done”. Another added: “Fake surprised reaction. Obviously they checked she was in. Duh”.
One commented: “Linda Barker being trusted to do a quick makeover, does no one remember Changing Rooms? #ThisMorning ”.
During This Morning on Wednesday 12 June, Cat was left horrified when she and Ben chatted to Weston Rowe who called in from Nebraska to talk about his stomach-churning diet of raw meat for every meal which he claims has improved his health.
Viewers were horrified as Cat and Ben asked him to eat a raw chicken leg live on air and he said: "It's really nothing, it's pretty bland. It's not too bad." Asked about the texture, he added: "It's just squishy and a little bit slimy."
Dr Zoe told viewers she “would not advise” the diet.
