MMYD's Janey Smith overjoyed as boyfriend Roger Hawes' family come to visit

Roger Hawes and Janey Smith have gone from strength to strength since meeting on the ITV reality show My Mum, Your Dad in May. And now Janey is fitting in perfectly with Roger's family.

Sharing a snap of their family, along with three dogs, Janey sweetly wrote: "When some of Rogers family come to visit [red heart emoji] Thank you, I loved it x"

The loved-up pair were one of the success stories of the ITV dating show. Roger and Janey had instantly felt a spark after being set up by Roger's daughter Jess, 29, and Janey’s son William, 20, who certainly proved to be rather adept matchmakers.

Fast forward a year later and the couple recently celebrated their first anniversary together, with Roger telling OK!: "It’s been a whirlwind. I think back to those first couple of days on the show – then Janey came in and everything changed for the better."

And asked about their first year together, Janey told us: "I just love having a boyfriend. I get to share things with someone and that’s what I’ve always wanted. It’s taken me a while to get used to it but we’re a team now. Roger will say, 'You’re not on your own any more,' but I was so independent, I struggled to ask for help."

Since appearing on the first series of MMYD last year, the couple have made regular appearances on This Morning, with their travelogues proving popular with viewers. The pair have since been travelling up and down the UK, attempting to visit as many vineyards as possible.

Roger first captured the hearts of viewers of the reality show, when he revealed how his wife Joanna passed away from cancer 18 months ago. He emotionally shared the tragic story, saying she went to sleep one night and never woke up again.

Then fans were enthralled as they watched the father's first attempt at dating in 34 years, with him getting to know gorgeous blonde Janey during the course of the two week series. They were then left delighted following the show's final episode when Roger swiftly revealed that they were still together.

Alongside a picture of the happy couple posing on a sandy beach with big smiles, Roger said: "It’s been hard to keep it a secret but the wait is finally over - me and the beautiful @janeybombshell are still going strong and have never been better since." Touchingly, he added: "We couldn’t be happier together and it wouldn’t be possible without @itv."
