Michael Mosley's final social media post before he went missing sparks fresh concern from fans

Dr Michael Mosley's most recent social media update has sparked a wave of concern among his followers after reports emerged that the TV health expert has gone missing on a Greek island.

A search and rescue mission is currently active in Symi, part of the Dodecanese Islands, as authorities look for Michael, 67, who is well-known for his segments on The One Show and This Morning, as well as his engaging health documentaries. He has also produced numerous films focusing on diet and exercise.

In what is now his last known social media post before disappearing, Michael talked about his Radio 4 programme Just One Thing. However, the comments section quickly became a space for fans to express their fears, with one fan posting: "Just one thing: please be alive and well."

Another shared: "Hope you are found safe and well," and a third added: "Praying you are found safe and well."

On X - the platform previously known as Twitter - Michael made a reference to his wife while replying to a follower's message. The fan had written: "Hi Michael hope you read this. Thank you so much.

"I decided to take cold showers after listening to your episode about the benefits of it. Now I've had a rotator cuff injury for a while and had to take at least 2 ibuprofen daily. A week after the cold showers, I haven't had to."

Reacting to the news, Michael cheekily tweeted: "Delighted to hear it.. while reading your tweet (or is it your X) I had a bad moment when I thought you were going to say you got a rotator cuff injury after falling in the shower..."

This prompted another fan to ask, "Heard the Dead Ringers parody? I'd see it as an honour! " To which Michael humorously responded: "I have.. I'm not convinced I really sound like that but my wife Clare says it is spot on."

Meanwhile, Dr Mosley's wife, Dr Clare Bailey, 62, played a significant role with alerting emergency services after her husband went missing during a coastal walk this past Wednesday near St Nicholas Beach.

Senior Police Spokesman Constantina Dimoglidou shared updates about the situation stating: "He was at the beach of Ag. Nikolas with another couple when he decided to go back to his home in the area of Pedi of Symi. It was around 1.30pm and he forgot his phone at the beach."

The unsettling reality of the nature of his disappearance became clear as Dimoglidou added: "Any and every attempt to track him down has not produced any result. We have now asked the fire brigade to assist in the operation in the case that he may have slipped, tripped, fallen, even bitten by a snake, remaining injured somewhere.

"There is just no trace of him. None whatsoever and that means that for us at least, every potential scenario is open and being investigated."
