A massive 90s girl group are busy in rehearsals ahead of a jaw-dropping revival this summer. Sisters Easther and Vernie Bennett are lighting up the stage again with group Eternal, accompanied by new recruit Christel Lakhdar, who has previously gushed about it being a "dream come true" to join the squad.

The band will not include Louise Redknapp, who was known for being a part of its original line-up alongside the Bennett sisters. Meanwhile former band member Kéllé Bryan will also not feature in the new look line-up, reports the Mirror.

In clips uploaded to Eternal's Instagram account, the group could be seen embarking on their comeback preparations as they headed to the rehearsal studio ahead of their upcoming performances, with their first show set to take place at Rochester Castle on Saturday, 6 July.

"The girls can't wait to get back out there again. There is huge excitement," a source told the Mirror.

However, their much-touted revival appears to have encountered a slight hiccup. In the video, Vernie could be spotted in the rehearsal sneak peeks sporting a moon-boot after injuring her foot, although it's reported that she'll recover in time for this weekend.

In response to the footage, fans flooded the comments section with messages of support for the group. "Yessssss let's have itttt can't wait to hear the vocals," wrote one Instagram user. "It's getting very real now! Eternal are back, it's your time to shine again ladies! Enjoy because us fans are going to enjoy big time!," another wrote.

With new band member Christel joining Easther and Vernie on stage, Vernie has previously opened up about performing as part of a new line-up and gushed how she was confident that Christel would elevate the group to the "next level".

Speaking to the Mirror in February, she explained: "Meeting Christel for the first time just felt right. She's talented, accomplished and has such an amazing personality. She's also strong vocally, so our harmonies will be taken to the next level. I think our music followers will love her just as much as we do."

Easther revealed that she was equally as excited about the band's future, and added that she was "really looking forward to dipping my toes in again with a few festivals here and there". She continued: "This new era is all about enjoying the moment."

And Christel couldn't hide her excitement either about joining the sisters. She told the publication: "I've been singing these songs since [I was] a young age and feel like pinching myself as I'm taking it all in."

The revamped trio has already lined up several dates, including at Back 2 Festival and 90s Baby Festival. The band, which is being managed by original manager Denis Ingoldsby, enjoyed phenomenal success after making their debut in 1993. Their first album Always and Forever, released in November of that year, peaked at No2 on the UK chart.

It sold over a million copies in the UK and 10million worldwide. The girls topped the singles chart alongside BeBe Winans with I Wanna Be the Only One in 1997 and had 15 UK Top 20 hits between 1993 and 1999, including Stay and Just a Step from Heaven.
