Last night's Met Gala has hit the headlines as usual with Kim Kardashian the spotlight in a dress Marilyn Monroe made famous 60 years ago.

But amongst the fashion hits and risks, one thing stood out more than Cara Delevingne's gold-painted bosom: the beauty looks.

And, surprisingly, many of them are immensely wearable. From Blake Lively's cascading golden waves and her glowing skin, to Gigi Hadid's glossy, crimson pout and Kate Moss's radiant make-up, there's a raft of gorgeous beauty trends we're going to tap into on our next night out.

So you can get in on the action, too, we've compiled some of the products used to get these stunning Met Gala beauty looks, and the insider info on how the MUA's made the magic happen.

Best beauty looks from The Met Gala 2022

Blake Lively

With her make-up artist, Kristofer Buckle, using Charlotte Tilbury cosmetics it's no wonder Blake looked like a goddess. "Blake’s look was inspired by warm-toned metals and coppers," Kristofer explains. "Her eyes were washed with a combination of matte browns for structure and metallic rose golds and coppers to play off her Versace gown. I made her lips a gentle terracotta tone to bring some brightness to the makeup palette.”

With her makeup so subtle, Blake's skin took centre stage, and Kristofer prepped her skin with Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Cream £49. The iconic, best-selling product has won 11 awards and its combo of oils, supercharged skincare ingredients and SPF15 give you glowy, dewy, plumper-looking skin - aka the perfect canvas to apply makeup onto.

We also want to add Lively's exact lipstick to our basket ASAP, which is under £30.

Gigi Hadid

The model went for a classic, sultry, siren look and let that stunning lip colour (SuperStay Vinyl Ink Liquid Lipstick £9.99 by Maybelline) do the talking.

We can see why she chose it - although it has a glossy look, it's a no-budge colour that the brand claims will last for up to 16 hours. It also doesn't smudge or transfer, so we trust she had no tell-tale lippy smears on her champagne glass.

Kate Moss

The 48-year-old super's classic beauty look (using Charlotte Tilbury products) was all about "glowing, gilded Hollywood skin," said her make-up artist, Sofia Tilbury (she's Charlotte's niece, fact fans). As well as a feline flick, Sofia gave her a bold lip - which complemented her femme-fatale look in her Burberry trench coat.

Kate looks more radiant than we've seen her in years thanks to Charlotte Tilbury's Beauty Light Wand £29.00 in Spotlight - a dreamy rose-gold highlighter for a soft-focus, luminous, glow that looks like you're lit from within.

Emma Stone

Mirror mirror on the wall, we declare Emma Stone's pretty flushed look the most gorgeous of them all. Using Pat McGrath Labs, Emma's make-up artist Rachel Goodwin enhanced, rather than smothered Emma's natural beauty. But while we love the look in its entirety, it's the beautiful flush lighting up her porcelain skin that really won our hearts.

It's courtesy of Nude Venus, £35, the Pat McGrath Labs powder blusher shade with a peachy-pink pearlescent finish (part of her Skin Fetish: Divine Blush range) we've just added to our baskets. And it's apparently the makeup artist's most requested launch to date. Something to do with it giving you a stunning, fresh, youthful glow, perhaps?

Lizzo

Looking foxy as hell, Lizzo rocked the red carpet in this dramatic look which was clearly inspired by the dark, vampy looks of the 1920s/30s. And we're here for it. Using Charlotte Tilbury products, her makeup artist Alexx Mayo gave Lizzo feline eyes, and the most amazing, sculptured cheekbones. But it's that deep burgundy lip colour that our eyes are drawn to.

The Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipstick, £26, is in a shade called Festival Magic (it was previously called Glastonberry). Time to get your vamp on...

Olivia Rodrigo

Inspired by the 1920s, MUA, Lilly Keys, was behind Olivia's stunning beauty look. “We wanted to achieve that dreamy, glamorous silent film era vision,” she told Vogue, “while still having that teenage rock star edge.” And she more than achieved that aim.

As with a lot of the looks at the Met Gala, the secret to their success is a flawless complexion. And in this case Lilly used a Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint £20, which is a very light, breathable tint that gives you an even skin tone and a smooth, dewy, pore-minimising, soft-focus finish. Any wonder it's not just younger women who rave about it - it's a hit with the 50 plus crowd too.

Simone Ashley

Breathtaking is how we'd describe the Bridgerton star. While not detracting from her natural beauty, her makeup artist, Alex carefully enhanced her beautiful features using a rich palette of autumnal colours from Pat McGrath Labs. But it's her satiny soft, flawless-looking skin that had us gasping in awe.

The product behind the flawlessness? Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Foundation - Medium Deep 24, £60. Available in 25 shades, it's pricey, yes, but if it gives us skin like Simone's we're sold.
