Met Gala 2024's most jaw-dropping red carpet looks – Emily Ratajkowski's 'nearly naked' gown to Doja Cat in towel

The Met Gala is one of the biggest events in the showbiz calendar, with dozens of A-listers pulling out their best looks on the red carpet. This year's event took on a mystical 'Garden of Time' theme, with many stars perfectly matching it.

The unique dress code is inspired by a 1962 short story of the same name, written by J.G. Ballard. Others also drew inspiration from this year's theme which was 'Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion', which is also the title of the Costume Institute’s new exhibition.

Famous faces such as Nicki Minaj, Kim Kardashian and Zendaya fully embraced the nature-inspired theme with their incredible looks. Take a look at some of the best outfits from the evening...

Doja Cat

Doja Cat certainly commanded attention at this year's Met Gala. The singer arrived sporting a white towel-style dress paired with a matching towel wrapped around her head.

She sported statement eye make-up, which looked as if mascara was streaming down her face, complete with sparkles. Doja Cat accessorised with a diamond necklace and platform heels. She later ditched her towel-inspired look and changed into a wet white t-shirt dress.

Emily Ratajkowski

Emily Ratajkowski never fails to wow on the red carpet, with the Met Gala being no different. The model wore a see-through gown covered in crystals, complete with a low back and long sleeves.

She accessorised with statement earrings and wore her brunette locks in a slick up do. The incredible dress is from Versace's 2001 fall winter collection.

Zendaya

Zendaya looked incredible in a nature-inspired look at this year's Met Gala. The actress, who was the co-chair of the event, wore a dark blue one shoulder gown, complete with peacock-inspired detailing.

She accessorised with a feather headpiece and opted for no jewellery, leaving her dress to take centre stage. Zendaya sported gothic make-up, including dark purple lipstick, to complete her red carpet look.

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian always pulls out a showstopper at the Met Gala, and her 2024 look was no different. The reality TV star showed off her famous figure in a metallic dress, featuring a corset-style top and flower detailing.

Kim wore a grey sweater draped across her shoulders, with her hair bleached and left loose around her shoulders. The mum-of-four opted for a natural make-up look and no jewellery.

Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande was a vision in white at the Met Gala. The singer wore a strapless gown by Loewe, featuring a corset-style top and long white skirt. She complemented her outfit with soft make-up and two small butterflies by her eyes.

Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey modelled a quirky nature-inspired look from Alexander McQueen by Sean McGirr. The singer's beige gown was covered in twigs and she completed her look with a branch-inspired headpiece. The look is a reference to an old McQueen runway look from 2007.

Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner opted for a classic red carpet gown at the Met Gala, as she modelled a figure-hugging champagne-coloured dress by Oscar de la Renta. The strapless gown featured a low back and dramatic train, and Kylie complimented it perfectly with neutral make up and her hair slicked back.

Kendall Jenner

Kendall Jenner wore a black beaded gown, complete with a plunging neck and cut outs across the hips. The model wore her brunette locks in long waves and opted for subtle make up. Kendall's look is Alexander McQueen’s fall 1999 look for Givenchy haute couture.

Rita Ora

Rita Ora's racy Met Gala look put her toned figure on display, as she rocked a sheer dress with no underwear. The singer's outfit was covered in colourful beaded strands, and definitely drew attention at the event.

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez, also a co-chair of the Met Gala, wore a silver custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown, complete with a plunging neckline and dramatic shoulder detailing. She oozed glamour with her hair in a stylish up-do, and accessorised with a huge necklace, chunky bracelet and gold clutch bag.

Bad Bunny

Bad Bunny was also a co-host of the Met Gala, and stepped out in a statement all-black look. The singer's custom Maison Margiela Artisanal Collection by John Galliano definitely turned heads. He stayed on theme as he carried a black Flor de Maga, the national flower of Puerto Rico.

Nicki Minaj nailed this year's theme as she modelled a bright yellow dress covered in huge flowers. She wore her hair in an up-do with a thick full fringe, adding flower clips to complete the look.

Dua Lipa's gothic-inspired look saw her stand out on the Met Gala red carpet. Her dress featured a lack see-through train and plunging top, as well as an oversized feathered boa. She wore her red looks in loose waves and accessorised with a diamond necklace.

Cara Delevingne

Cara Delevingne pulls out all of the stops every year at the Met Gala. This year, the model opted for a dramatic diamond-covered crop top complete with a hood by Stella McCartney, paired with a white maxi skirt. She matched her make-up to her look, with Swarovski crystals added to the inner and outer corners of her eyes.
