Meghan Markle sends Kardashian momager Kris Jenner special gift and note from lifestyle range
Meghan Markle sent Kris Jenner a present from her new lifestyle collection, American Riviera Orchard, complete with a personal touch. The reality TV icon took to Instagram to reveal the sweet surprise she received from the Duchess of Sussex – a limited edition jar of strawberry jam, numbered 13 out of an exclusive batch of 50.
Alongside the tasty spread, 68 year old Kris was treated to a beautiful bundle of homegrown lemons.
The gift set was made even more special with a chic white notecard, featuring Kris' name elegantly scripted in calligraphy – a skill Meghan is known for, having taught it before her rise to fame as an actress.
Kris expressed her gratitude for the gesture on social media, posting: "Thank you @americanrivieraorchard" accompanied by a lemon and heart emoji in a sunny shade of yellow.
Meghan's connection with the Kardashian matriarch has been blossoming, evidenced by their recent appearance together at a charity event in LA, alongside Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland. As Meghan and Prince Harry continue to establish their life in Montecito, they seem to be growing ever closer to the Kardashians.
Yet, the launch of Meghan's new lifestyle venture has sparking mixed reactions across the internet, with some critics questioning her latest entrepreneurial endeavour, reports the Express.
Meghan has been supported by her famous pals, as Chrissy Teigen recently used the jam to whip up a brie and bacon sandwich with her husband John Legend.
Another recipient of Meghan's gift was her former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer, who proudly showcased the jam on Instagram.
The limited edition preserve is rumoured to be the first in a line of luxury food items and homeware products that will be available on Meghan's website later this year.
Meanwhile, Meghan has found a staunch ally in Hollywood heavyweight Melissa McCarthy, who's come out swinging against the Duchess's detractors. The Bridesmaids actress hailed Meghan as "wonderful" amidst the latest wave of criticism following her brand launch.
"It bums me out for every woman and every person, that for no reason people just like to attack," she expressed her dismay, reports the Express.
Chatting with Page Six, Melissa, 53, said: "A smart, interesting woman that has her own life, for some reason, is incredibly threatening to some people."
"I always think, how inspiring! I've never once been threatened by someone who is amazing. I just think how inspiring. It's really on the people throwing the hate." Melissa ended by sharing her admiration for Meghan, calling her "wonderful" and "awesome".
