Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's new move that drops big hint about future in UK
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have made a significant move that could hint at their intentions to maintain ties with the UK, despite their well-documented Royal feud.
The Sussexes, who famously stepped back from Royal duties four years ago amid rising tensions with the Royal Family, have welcomed Charlie Gipson into their team as a communications executive.
Interestingly, Charlie is based in the UK, suggesting that the Royal couple are eager to continue and enhance relations with the British public by hiring a key UK-based staff member. Charlie will take on the role of Director of Communications, becoming the point of contact for British media enquiries.
On the other side of the Atlantic, Kyle Boulia has joined the Sussex's growing team as Deputy Press Secretary and Director of Communications for US media.
This team also includes former global communications chief Miranda Barbot, now VP of programs and media operations, and Ashley Hansen, who continues to manage communications for the couple's Archewell foundation.
Prince Harry has recently opened up about his longing to return to the UK. During an interview on Good Morning America, he revealed: "My family and my life in California is as it is. I have got other trips planned. That would take me through the UK or back to the UK, so you know, I'll stop in and see my family as much as I can."
Previously, Harry had flown back to the UK to visit King Charles after the king's cancer diagnosis. He's set to make another trip next month for a celebration of the Invictus Games.
A special service will be held at St Paul's Cathedral in London on 8 May to mark the 10th anniversary of the sporting event, which was founded by Harry in 2014. The Duke of Sussex is expected to give a speech at the event, though it's not yet known if Meghan will accompany him.
The couple have also announced new filming projects as part of their lucrative deal with Netflix. Harry is working on a documentary that explores the world of polo and offers a behind-the-scenes look at the sport, while Meghan is launching a new cookery and lifestyle show that celebrates the "joys of cooking and gardening, entertaining and friendship."
However, Meghan's latest venture has reportedly hit a snag, as it's believed to have put her podcast comeback on hold, with the relaunch now not expected until 2025. The Duchess of Sussex had previously expressed her excitement about returning to the world of podcasting, sharing her plans to re-launch her successful 'Archetypes' podcast.
Yet, it seems the project is having trouble getting off the ground, with insiders claiming there are issues with the launch.
An insider told the Daily Mail that the "smaller podcast company is struggling to get off the starting blocks."
It appears Lemonada, the company behind Meghan's podcast, is worried about potential "scheduling conflicts" between the podcast's release and the debut of Meghan's new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.
Meghan's anticipated podcast return was set to see the revival of 'Archetypes', which had garnered over 10 million downloads and averaged nearly a million listens per episode.
Earlier this year, when Meghan announced her partnership, she enthused: "Being able to support a female-founded company with a roster of thought-provoking and highly entertaining podcasts is a fantastic way to kick off 2024.
"Our plan to re-release Archetypes so that more people can now have access to it, as well as launching a dynamic new podcast is well in the works."
