Meghan Markle has made a surprise landing in the UK for a quick catch-up with Prince Harry before they jet off to Nigeria for a three-day visit. The Duchess of Sussex touched down at Heathrow Airport for a brief rendezvous with her hubby, ahead of their African adventure.

It comes after the Duke was in London for an Invictus Games ceremony at St Paul's Cathedral. Unfortunately, he didn't get the chance to see his dad King Charles who was just a stone's throw away at a Buckingham Palace garden party.

Meghan was spotted waiting for Harry in the VIP Windsor Suite at the airport. The couple then hopped on the British Airways overnight flight to Abuja.

However, a hiccup delayed their departure as the pilot scheduled to fly them fell ill and a stand-in had to be found. The Sussexes have come under fire from a former head of Royal security, Dai Davies, who accused them of hypocrisy over their security concerns in Britain given their planned trip to Nigeria, one of the world's most dangerous countries, reports the Express.

While in Nigeria, the pair are set to watch a volleyball match and visit military hospitals and charities in Abuja and Lagos. Their itinerary, unveiled by the Defence HQ during a press conference on Thursday, May 9, also includes planned meetings with injured armed forces personnel and their families.

Following Prince Harry's appearance at the Invictus Games ceremony, a body language explained the Duke appeared "confident". Speaking on behalf of Betfair Bingo, body language expert Darren Stanton analysed his appearance.

He shared: "Harry is in a good place and it’s telling us he is genuinely interested and enthusiastic about being back in the UK. From what we can see, Harry wants to do the right thing. He’s displaying signals that tell us he wants to make people proud.

"It’s also suggesting he’s feeling confident being back in the UK for the Invictus Games. He isn’t displaying signs of nervousness or unease. He’s feeling comfortable and strong being back on his home soil.”

Harry interacted with members fo the public, with some shouting "we love you" at the Prince. He shook hands and smiled for cameras.

Darren said of the interaction: "When we see Harry interacting with the public, it’s telling us he’s in a place of comfort, resilience and strength. He isn’t fazed by anything else going on. He was present in the moment and focused all his attention on them. This demonstrates he is in a great place with himself."
