Love Island legend to become a dad for the first time as his girlfriend shares pregnancy

A Love Island icon has shared the happy news that they’re set to become a dad for the first time. Connor Durman, who appeared on the ITV2 dating show in 2020 alongside the likes of Molly Smith, Shaughna Phillips and Sophie Piper, has revealed that his girlfriend is currently pregnant with their first child - a baby boy.

In a wholesome video uploaded to Instagram, Connor’s partner Ella Newton shared a montage of her and Connor, 30, telling their loved ones the exciting news. As part of the mash-up of clips, the parents-to-be could also be seen cutting into a gender reveal cake that was bright blue to indicate that they were set to welcome a son into the world.

During his time on Love Island four years ago, the TV personality was coupled up with Rochelle Humes ’ sister Sophie. However, things weren’t to be on the outside.

“Things just fizzled out. They never even went official,” a source told The Sun at the time. “It just didn’t have a chance to get started because of lockdown and they both agreed it was better to just stay friends.”

While Conor subsequently found love with Ella, Sophie re-entered the Love Island villa earlier this year as part of Love Island: All Stars. While on the show, she formed a relationship with Joshua Ritchie and things have been going from strength to strength ever since.

“We won't be moving in together or anything yet, we're taking things slow. He's in Manchester and I'm in London but we're still managing to see each other and we always say that it's nice to miss each other,” Sophie told OK! when asked about their next steps together after leaving the show.

She added: “Me and Josh are really good, I feel like we're the two people who least expected it to turn out the way it has, but yeah, we're really happy.”
