Using an awards show to promote a cause is always a brave thing to do – especially when some may not understand where you’re coming from.

Actress Lola Kirke contrasted her princess-like Andrew Gn gown with some nicely grown body hair at the Golden Globes. Upping the feminist ante at the Hollywood event, she proudly showed off her underarm hair on the red carpet.

The 26-year-old, who is the sister of Girls star and fellow feminist Jemima Kirke, didn’t hide her unshaven look from the paparazzi (or her 12,000 Instagram followers).

Lola is far from the first star to banish the razor. Both Drew Barrymore and Julia Roberts have previously flaunted body hair on the red carpet.

The Kirkes are known for giving it to the cameras. Lola sported the same look in a 2015 Vanity Fair shoot while sister Jemima has gone unshaven for several high-profile events including the 2015 CFDA Awards.

Well done girls.
