Sarah Jessica Parker paid tribute to Carrie Fisher at the Golden Globes
Sarah Jessica Parker is known for her style prowess so all eyes were on her at last night’s star-studded Golden Globes. The 51-year-old actress arrived in a dramatic Vera Wang gown with a hairstyle that appeared to honour the late Carrie Fisher.
Wearing her hair in a style similar to the Star Wars actresses iconic Princess Leia look, SJP admitted it was all an accident to NBC: “I didn’t mean for that, perhaps it was in my subconscious. There’s actually a photograph of my mother wearing her hair like this.”
“And though we didn’t think we were gonna do this, this ended up being what we did, so perhaps it’s a tiny little nod at a very grand person.”
Parker was one of the night’s best dressed stars with her white cut-out dress causing a sensation on the packed-out red carpet. The exaggerated Vera Wang design was actually from the designer’s bridal collection and was partly inspired by Romeo and Juliet.
Carrie Fisher sadly passed away on 27 December at the age of 60. Her 80-year-old mother, actress Debbie Reynolds, died a day later.
