Lauren Sánchez Embraces Whimsical Eveningwear in Elie Saab Ruffled Jumpsuit With Jeff Bezos at IWMF Courage in Journalism Awards
Emmy-winning journalist Lauren Sánchez wore a cream Elie Saab one-shoulder jumpsuit to speak at the International Women’s Media Foundation’s Courage in Journalism Awards on Monday. The former news anchor attended the private awards ceremony with her billionaire fiancé, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. The Washington Post, which he bought in 2013, sponsored the event, which took place at Bezos’ mansion in Washington, D.C.
Sánchez’s jumpsuit featured a voluminous ruffled flower at the long-sleeve shoulder, a fitted bodice and wide-leg pants. The ensemble was from Elie Saab’s pre-fall 2023 collection, which was imagined for active women who want to be “cool and shine from the morning onward.” Sánchez matched the jumpsuit’s simple elegance with her hair in a low pony, a glossy light pink lip and simple diamond dangle earrings.

The IWMF Courage in Journalism Awards have been presented since 1990 to celebrate outstanding women and non-binary journalists reporting in high-risk situations.
This year’s awards were presented to María Teresa Montaño Delgado, a Mexican journalist and director of The Observer living in exile in Spain: posthumously to Shireen Abu Akleh, a Palestinian American Al Jazeera journalist, and the women of The Washington Post who’ve been reporting on Ukraine. Iranian journalist Yalda Moaiery was presented with the Wallis Annenberg Justice for Women Journalists Award. Receptions linked to the event will also be held in Los Angeles on Wednesday and in New York City on Oct. 30.
Sánchez got her start as a news, sports and entertainment reporter on shows including “Extra,” “Fox Sports News Primetime” and “Good Day LA.” She founded the first female-owned aerial film and production company — Black Ops Aviation — in 2016. She also serves as the vice chair of the Bezos Earth Fund, his climate-change nonprofit.
Sánchez also recently shared photos from Kim Kardashian’s 43rd birthday party, where she wore a black latex-look tube dress, statement gold earrings and a black Bottega Veneta purse. Fellow Emmy-winner Kelly Johnson styled her at the star-studded bash held at Funke restaurant in Beverly Hills, Calif.
